Course for wine lovers


A comprehensive course designed for everyone who enjoys a good wine drop and wants to learn more about wine. This course includes learning about the most famous wine varieties, regions, reading wine labels, matching wine and food, as well as learning about proper wine tasting, wine service and wine evaluation. The course is designed so that in addition to the theoretical part, students are practically trained in how to taste and evaluate the quality of wine, which implies the tasting of over 50 different wines from all over the world. Through this approach to education, students will learn how to recognize good and bad characteristics of wine, wine aromas and bouquet, different vintages, varieties, regions … Besides the lectures on wines, the course also includes lectures on fortified wines and spirits (brandy, whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, gin, tequila, liqueurs).

The course is open for all wine lovers and it does not require any previous knowledge about wine. It is also intended for those who already possess a certain degree of knowledge but simply wish to learn more on this subject whether or not they wish to pursue a professional career in the wine business (sommeliers, tour guides specialized for wine tourism, wine merchants…) or just want to expand their knowledge in this area.

April 2nd 2018. 18-21h – Wines of Serbia and neighbouring regions

April 3rd 2018. 18-21h – Wines of France and Italy

April 12th 2018. 18-21h – Wines of Spain and Portugal

April 13th 2018. 18-21h – Wines of Germany and Austria

April 16th 2018. 18-21h – Wines of USA, Australia, New Zealand and South America

April 17th 2018. 18-21h – Sparkling and fortified wines

April 18th 2018. 18-21h – Spirits


Each lesson includes wine and food tastings.

Upon successful completion of the exam, all students will receive the certificate of  the Wine Academy of Serbia.

Price: 270 EUR

Price includes all of the necessary materials for the exam (textbook), lectures, all wine and wood which will be tasted during the course as well as the certificate of the Wine Academy of Serbia (for those who pass the exam).

How to reach us: For those who do not own their own vehicle (or simply do not want to drive), the best solution is a regular taxi line for Sremski Karlovci, which runs at the price of a bus ticket (160.00 dinars per person) to any destination in Sremski Karlovci and picks up passengers anywhere along the  Boulevard of Liberty (Bulevar Oslobođenja).

We recommend that you call them a few hours before your scheduled arrival for Sr. Karlovci to reserve a seat for yourself at the time that suits you best and then wait for the taxi somewhere along the Boulevard of Liberty (Bulevar Oslobođenja) where it suits you most.

This transportation is valid for those traveling from Novi Sad. For those coming from Belgrade, choose buses which travel via the old road for Novi Sad or choose a train. All those who go by car, navigation (GPS) is the best option.
