Get to know the Wine Academy of Serbia
WINE ACADEMY OF SERBIA has been part of the most prestigious and most respected wine institution in the world, Wine and Spirit Education Trust, since November 2015.
Wine and Spirit Education Trust is the most prestigious and one of the most influential wine institutions in the world based in London. WSET has been expanding its knowledge for decades through its providers operating in over 55 countries of the world, and one of them is the Wine Academy of Serbia.
In order to raise the Serbian wine scene to an enviable level and to recognize our wines all over the world, the Wine Academy of Serbia has been given the opportunity to organize WSET training here in Serbia.
WSET training is intended for those are in the hospitality, catering, wine selling & distribution business, wine producers, wine critics, journalists, wine bloggers, future wine evaluators, as well as all wine lovers who are just entering the wine world.
At the Wine Academy of Serbia, you can attend two levels, WSET Level 1 Award in Wines, WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, as well as WSET Level 1 Award in Wine Service, followed by WSET Level 3 and Level 4 – Diploma (available only in London) which is also a prerequisite for the Master of Wine title – the highest and most prestigious title in the wine world.
After each successful level, the student receives an internationally recognized WSET certificate!
Through training, students have the opportunity to get better acquainted with this noble drink, through the theoretical and practical part. The covered topics include the basics of wine making and viticulture, service and wine tasting, wine and food matching, as well as getting to know the characteristic grape varieties of the most famous wine regions. Each lesson also includes a practical part – wine tasting.
The training is held in Sremski Karlovci, in an ambient surrounded by vineyards. Each participant has the opportunity to see where the wine story starts, which is a precedent in such training. The importance of such training is also reflected in the creation of an increasing number of wine consumers who will be able to apply their knowledge in spheres such as catering, tourism, wine production as well as students of faculties dealing with related sciences.
